I have just finished a training session with my team and this was my focal point – why does anyone want to give you time if you are not going to make a difference in their lives in the time they give you?

It is true – a good person and the words they use are like pure silver – a commodity people want.  Your words will benefit people and by that, your words will be in demand.

“When a man dies, if he can pass enthusiasm along to his children, he has left them an estate of incalculable value.” — Thomas Edison

It is also true that an evil persons words are worthless.  They are much more consumed with themselves than with you.  They do not realize it yet, but they could kill themselves with their own lack of awareness of their foolishness.

“We should value the real and substantial more than the ceremonial. And yet, it’s unbelievable just how much people are influenced by courteous manners and pleasing words. And this because they all believe they deserve to be greatly esteemed, and thus will feel hurt if they find you aren’t giving them the deference they’re convinced they’re due.”                   Francesco Guicciardini
